Without stabalizing popoulation growth and ensuring States have the resources to integrate envirornmentally friendly development plans, people like those in the New Delhi marathon will be forced to continue powering through pollution.
The current air quality in New Dehli has been compared to smoking 50 cigarettes a day. This has produced new records of toxicity levels as the city urges people to use respiratory masks and stay inside when possible.
Out of sight, out of mind is not an option! While pollution knows no boundaries, the terribly unhealthy conditions will also produce environmental refugees that seek clean air.
Thankfully, States, companies and organizations continue working hard to ensure a deeper integration of the UNs 17 Sustainable Development Goals into their daily routines, processes and organizational cultures.
